COMMUNITY HARVEST PROJECT – TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17
For the past five summers, WWC has volunteered at Community Harvest Project, 37 Wheeler Road in North Grafton. This non-profit farm grows fruits and vegetables through volunteers, who donate them for hunger relief.
This summer, our Club’s reserved date is Tuesday, September 17, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. We have previously picked zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, leeks, and eggplant. We have also planted turnip seeds for fall harvest. In other words, we pick whatever is ready for harvest on our day.  If you would like to join us this year, please contact Elaine Moore at 508-366-8585 or elainemoore7777@gmail.com) to volunteer. Registration is necessary before our September 17 date.  Elaine will email registration information to those interested. You will find this a gratifying and fun experience!

Community Harvest Project is a non-profit farm that engages volunteers to grow fresh fruits and vegetables to provide for those experiencing hunger. Through our volunteer farming programs, education initiatives, and community partnerships, we bring thousands of community members together yearly to improve access to healthy foods for individuals and families in need across Worcester County. This summer,  Women’s Club members harvested over 25 pounds of yellow and green beans and tended two very long rows of beets.  That’s enough for 132 servings of fresh beans!  We have harvested onions, tomatoes, cabbage, and more in past summers.   Again, we hope to return next summer!
