Battery recycling aims to reduce the number of batteries being disposed as solid waste.  Batteries contain a number of heavy metals and toxic chemicals and disposing them with trash contributes to soil contamination and water pollution.

Button batteries are commonly used in hearing aids, key FOBs, watches, cameras, and calculators. Button battery collection boxes are located in Westborough at the Library, Senior Center, and Board of Health office. An additional benefit of recycling your batteries at one of our collection boxes is that the Westborough Women’s Club is awarded $100 for each pound of batteries that we recycle with Wheelabrator Technologies!
